cupping room coffee roasters is an award-winning small batch specialty coffee roastery located in Hong Kong.
Our story
2011
Cupping Room was founded in 2011 in Stanley Plaza, Stanley, Hong Kong Island. From the beginning, our focus was to bring carefully roasted and prepared coffee to Hong Kongers in a comfortable environment.
2013
In 2013, we relocated from Stanley Plaza to the bustling district of Sheung Wan, expanding in the process to include Australian-inspired café fare.

2014 2015
In 2014, we added our first location in Wan Chai and in 2015 our Central store soon followed, which included an on-site bakery.
2016
Finally, we welcomed our Roastery and coffee bar at Po Hing Fong in 2016 and have been roasting coffee since then on a Probat UG15 Retro roaster.
2020
We welcomed our first shopping mall locations in Lee Garden One, Causeway Bay and Harbour City, Tsim Sha Tsui. Our Lee Gardens shop offers location-exclusive Nordic-inspired open face sandwiches, while our Harbour City cafe features panini sandwiches grilled to order. Both serve our newest house blend, "B-side" (read more about B-side here) in all espresso-bar beverages.

Coffee
We roast coffees with great aroma, sweetness, and clarity of flavour. Above all else, this is our identity and what guides our craft. We work directly with producers and trusted partners to buy coffees season after season, when they are in-season, to ensure the best possible quality. We avidly seek out coffees that are transparent examples of origin, processing method, and variety; then roast carefully to balance acidity and sweetness in the cup. Small batch roasted in Hong Kong. Shops
Cupping Room’s coffee shops are always a friendly, welcoming place for the neighbourhood, no matter if that neighbourhood is in sleepy Po Hing Fong, bustling Central, or in one of Hong Kong's most stylish shopping malls. We combine world-class coffee with an extensive food program in simple aesthetics served with warmth and a smile. Our chef has designed menus to suit the season as well as the individual neighbourhoods of our various locations. Regular features include house-smoked salmon eggs benedicts, pan-fried chicken breast on spaghetti in a creamy garlic sauce, or brioche French Toast served with mascarpone and seasonal berries or fruits. We serve coffee alternatives such as house-blended chai tea lattes as well as favourites such as hot and iced matcha or hojicha lattes, and offer Oatly oat milk as a milk alternative.Find us
